About the role#
This 3-month internship within the Video Algorithm team focuses on improving video quality through machine learning and traditional signal processing. You will work on developing models to address artifacts introduced during video encoding for formats including AV1, HEVC, and H.264.
What you'll do#
- Develop machine-learning-based models to improve the quality of encoded video.
- Curate a content database to train production-ready machine learning models.
- Enhance non-pristine input content for use before the encoding pipeline.
- Collaborate with the Video Algorithm team to integrate machine learning with traditional signal processing techniques.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Graduation date of December 2026, Summer 2027, or later.
- Must be returning to school for at least one semester or quarter following the internship.
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++.
- Strong software development skills, including experience with version control, testing, and code review.
- Demonstrated research or project experience in machine learning, video algorithms, video coding, computer vision, or video quality.
- Solid understanding of deep learning concepts with hands-on experience in training and evaluating models.
