About the role#
The Nebraska Department of Transportation is seeking a student intern to join the Construction Systems team within the Business Technology Support Division. This role involves working alongside team members to support department initiatives, update systems, and implement new coding practices and functionality.
What you'll do#
- Write code to support reporting, analysis, data transformation, and data transfer within or between systems.
- Create or update SQL queries to visualize data.
- Use C# or Python to modify data for department systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Must be a three-fourths-time student in good standing majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to read and write code in SQL, C#, or Python.
- Coursework, training, or experience in SQL, C#, or Python.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Regular and reliable attendance.

- Location: Lincoln, Nebraska.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Hours: Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week when classes are in session. Temporary full-time employment may be available during scheduled school breaks.
