About the role#
As a graduate intern with the Amentum Space Exploration Division, you will support the Propulsion Systems Department. You will work on hardware development, payload integration, modeling and simulation, and propulsion systems for major space programs. This is a part-time role limited to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Perform design and structural optimization tasks for flight and non-flight hardware.
- Assist in developing and improving analytical tools for structural systems using empirical and finite element methods.
- Interface with senior engineers to provide feedback on technical activities.
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MS or Ph.D. program in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Familiarity with analysis tools such as MatLab, Java, or Python.
- Knowledge of CAD applications like Creo is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in both written and verbal formats.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
