About the role#
The Human Sleep Research Program at SRI studies how sleep relates to health and behavior. This internship provides hands-on experience with clinical and translational research methods. You will work on-site in Menlo Park with an interdisciplinary team. This is a part-time role, ranging from 10 to 20 hours per week, and requires the ability to work overnight shifts.
What you'll do#
- Support human sleep research studies by assisting with participant visits during overnight, evening, afternoon, and early-morning hours.
- Maintain alertness and attention throughout overnight research shifts.
- Collect physiological and behavioral data, including EEG recordings, wearable device data, cognitive assessments, clinical measures, and bioassays.
- Assist with the collection of multimodal MRI data and other study-specific procedures.
- Manage research data through entry, organization, and quality control processes.
- Contribute to data analysis and visualization projects involving wearable, sleep, and neuroimaging data.
- Follow established study protocols to ensure consistent and high-quality data collection.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in psychology, neuroscience, biology, cognitive science, or a related field.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- An interest in sleep research is a plus.

- Compensation: $17.55 to $23 per hour.
