    About the role#

    The World Justice Project is hiring one Research Intern for a six-month term. You will report to the Manager and support the team with the Environmental Rule of Law assessment. This project focuses on developing empirical tools to measure and strengthen environmental rule of law in the Asia Pacific region. You may also provide general research assistance for other global initiatives, including the Rule of Law Index and domestic projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Support questionnaire and conceptual framework development through desk research and literature reviews.
    • Assist with primary data collection for the Qualified Respondents’ Questionnaire expert surveys.
    • Manage online data collection platforms and CRM databases.
    • Coordinate outreach efforts and correspond with expert contributors.
    • Prepare Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and outreach materials.
    • Support projects related to alternative data collection and data visualization.

    What you'll need#

    • A completed undergraduate degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
    • Current location in the Washington, DC area.
    • Previous experience in a professional setting.
    • Proven experience conducting qualitative or general desk research.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform administrative tasks.
    • Experience with copyediting, proofing, and professional correspondence.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, full-time position (37.5 hours per week).
    • The term runs from October 2026 through March 2027.
    • The role is based at the Washington, DC headquarters.
    • We maintain a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least 60% of hours to be worked from the office.
