About the role#
This is an unpaid internship offered through the Hire Vets Now SkillBridge program. It is designed for transitioning active-duty US military personnel to gain professional experience during their final 180 days of service. You will work on projects alongside a mentor and senior leadership to prepare for a potential transition into a permanent, full-time role.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications for product designs using metals, non-metallic, or composite materials.
- Perform structural modeling and analyze damage tolerance, durability, and design allowables.
- Focus on specific engineering areas such as dynamics and loads, stability, stress fatigue, or thermal analysis.
- Use software tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, and other applications.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Active-duty military status within the final 180 days of service.
- Eligibility to apply within the final 12 months of military service.
- Education and experience levels depend on your specific program of instruction.
- US citizenship.
