ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SKILLBRIDGE INTERN (PLANT OPERATIONS

About the role#

This is an unpaid internship through the Hire Vets Now SkillBridge Program, designed for transitioning active-duty U.S. military personnel within their final 180 days of service. This role provides an opportunity to gain industry experience in plant operations and quality assurance, with a focus on transitioning military skills into a permanent civilian career path at Newport News Shipbuilding.

What you'll do#

• Support functional areas within Quality by gathering, collecting, recording, tracking, and verifying data from various sources.
• Compile, review, and analyze data to generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, and presentations.
• Manage and maintain company forms, including creating new forms, processing orders, and updating databases.
• Review nuclear procedures for formatting and manage their publication on SharePoint and IDE sites.
• Provide information on functional unit processes and procedures to various levels of employees.
• Resolve routine questions and assist with process improvements to enhance workflow.

What you'll need#

• Active-duty military personnel within the final 180 days of service.
• Education and experience levels dependent on your specific Program of Instruction.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in software tools required to compile reports and manage documentation.
