About the role#
The Enterprise Operational Risk Management Division identifies, assesses, and reports organizational risks. As a 2nd Line of Defense, the team provides oversight and guidance to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. This 12-week internship runs from May 2027 through August 2027. You will work on impactful projects while collaborating with Enterprise Technology Services, Data Governance, and Business Unit Risk partners.
What you'll do#
- Execute day-to-day tasks and special projects within program guidelines.
- Compile risk prioritization data, reports, and dashboards.
- Conduct assessments for new applications and analyze quality gates.
- Analyze data to develop Business Unit awareness materials.
- Support sound decision-making by providing risk insights.
- Adhere to Navy Federal policies and Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Operational Risk Management, Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Familiarity with governance practices like Vulnerability Management, Business Continuity, Third Party Risk, Data Loss Prevention, and Network Security.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to all levels of management.
- Experience creating presentations and managing multiple priorities.
- A high emotional quotient and interpersonal skills.
Location & details#
- Locations: Vienna, VA; Pensacola, FL; Winchester, VA; or Remote.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
