About the role#
The Cybersecurity Intern supports our team in protecting information assets, systems, networks, and users. You will gain hands-on experience in security operations, vulnerability management, identity protection, incident response, and governance. This role involves working alongside cybersecurity professionals to contribute to ongoing security initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Monitor security alerts and dashboards.
- Track and document cybersecurity incidents, investigations, and remediation activities.
- Review and triage security notifications from monitoring platforms.
- Maintain operational security documentation and runbooks.
- Collect and analyze vulnerability data from security tools.
- Track remediation efforts and compliance metrics.
- Support cybersecurity reporting and dashboard preparation.
- Review patching and remediation status across systems.
- Support access reviews and periodic entitlement checks.
- Assist with account lifecycle processes and security validation.
- Document identity security processes and procedures.
- Support phishing awareness campaigns and cybersecurity communications.
- Assist with training completion tracking and reporting.
- Create user-facing cybersecurity awareness materials.
- Assist with security policy and procedure updates.
- Support audit preparation and evidence collection.
- Track security-related action items, risks, and remediation plans.
- Participate in cybersecurity and infrastructure projects.
- Research and evaluate security technologies and best practices.
- Support documentation, meeting notes, status tracking, and project coordination.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking, and operating systems (Windows preferred).
- Basic knowledge of identity and access management, vulnerability management, and common threats like phishing, malware, and ransomware.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Genuine interest in learning cybersecurity technologies and processes.
