About the role#
National Gypsum Company is seeking an IT Intern to join the IT Operations team in Charlotte. This role offers hands-on experience in service desk operations, network communications, and cybersecurity. You will work alongside IT professionals to support daily operations and assist with projects that maintain business systems.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and maintain network communication systems, including LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure.
- Support cybersecurity efforts such as endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.
- Create user guides and document technical processes for recurring issues.
- Collaborate on projects involving IT service management, system upgrades, and security improvements.
- Assist with incident response activities, including root cause analysis and preventive planning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office 365.
- Interest in cybersecurity best practices and networking concepts like routing, firewalls, and TCP/IP.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina.
