About the role#
This internship provides an immersive experience in the reinsurance sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals to solve complex problems and contribute to real projects. You will be a full team member, gaining exposure to leadership and developing a foundation for a career in actuarial science.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and communicate profitability for pricing reports and reinsurance proposals.
- Use AXIS modeling to make recommendations for client requests and special quotes.
- Analyze the impact of profitability on new business portfolios.
- Present findings and strategy recommendations to project leads.
- Prepare documentation for client presentations and reinsurance solutions.
- Provide actuarial support to internal departments including claims and risk selection.
- Perform pricing analysis and modeling for new business and renewals.
- Assist in calculating and reporting financial results and profitability indicators.
- Assess the impact of changes in assumptions and methodologies.
- Ensure treaties and amendments are drafted and signed on time.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, risk management, or a related field.
- Excellent academic record.
- Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam (two or more is an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Leadership, curiosity, integrity, and a professional demeanor.
- Previous internship experience and familiarity with AXIS are considered assets.

- Location: Montreal, Quebec.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 months).
- Modality: Hybrid (minimum of three days per week in the office).
- Compensation: $950 to $1,450 per week.
