About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Catastrophe Claims Co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will support the Catastrophe (CAT) Claims team during weather and large-scale loss events. This role offers exposure to insurance operations and hands-on experience with cross-functional teams including Claims and Underwriting.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and assign claims to team members based on established processes.
- Maintain and manage claim tracking spreadsheets and reports.
- Prepare and send documentation and forms to Underwriting partners.
- Draft and distribute correspondence and customer letters.
- Monitor and manage the CAT team mailbox.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and other supporting materials for meetings and events.
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Support process improvement initiatives and help maintain accurate records during high-volume events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a College or University program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Communications.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a customer-service mindset.
