About the role#
The Future Talent Program offers 10-12 week internships within our Manufacturing Division. You will join a multidisciplinary team at our Elkton, Virginia facility to support the production of vaccines, biologics, and sterile products. This role provides an opportunity to apply your technical skills to real-world projects while gaining insight into our manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide on-the-floor support for operational and technical issues.
- Collaborate with the shop floor on projects critical to vaccine manufacturing.
- Work within cross-functional teams to support biologic and sterile manufacturing processes.
- Conduct technical investigations and analyses, then recommend corrective or preventative actions.
- Write, review, and improve equipment and process operating procedures.
- Maintain high levels of performance and regulatory compliance for manufacturing processes.
- Perform data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for daily operations.
- Engage in a diverse and inclusive team culture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior in a Bachelor’s degree program for Chemical, Biochemical, Biological Systems, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology.
- A minimum GPA of 3.20.
- Availability for 10-12 weeks starting in May 2027.
- Strong communication skills, ethics, and leadership experience.
- Robust problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is preferred.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools is preferred.
