About the role#
The Future Talent Program offers a 6-month Co-Op experience within our Manufacturing Division. You will join a multidisciplinary team at our Elkton, Virginia facility to support the production of vaccines and biologic products. This role provides direct exposure to manufacturing operations, including process development, automation, maintenance, and technical services. You will work on-site and contribute to projects that impact our manufacturing performance.
What you'll do#
- Provide on-the-floor support for operational and technical issues.
- Collaborate with shop floor teams on projects critical to vaccine manufacturing.
- Conduct technical investigations and analyses to recommend corrective or preventative actions.
- Write, review, and improve equipment and process operating procedures.
- Analyze data and troubleshoot daily operations.
- Maintain manufacturing processes to meet performance and regulatory standards.
- Work within cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency and yield.
- Contribute to an inclusive and diverse team environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a sophomore or junior in a Bachelor’s degree program for Chemical, Biochemical, Biological Systems, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology.
- Availability for a minimum 6-month Co-Op starting in May or June 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 3.20.
- Strong technical competency, communication skills, and personal ethics.
- Demonstrated leadership through direct roles or influence.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to view issues from multiple perspectives.
- Preferred: Experience in a laboratory or industrial setting, familiarity with cGMP, Lean/Six Sigma tools, and experience leading small projects.
