About the role#
This co-op program offers students the chance to work within the Research and Development division at MSD. You will join a team studying the role of novel targets in inflammatory and autoimmune indications. This is a full-time, paid position lasting up to 6 months. You will participate in projects that provide exposure to professional research environments and help you evaluate your long-term career goals.
What you'll do#
- Execute research projects within the Discovery Immunology team.
- Culture primary human cells and cell lines.
- Perform CRISPR editing and develop biochemical assays.
- Conduct ELISA and other cytokine-based assays.
- Execute RNA isolation and quantitative PCR.
- Perform flow cytometry, FACS, and microscopy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Availability for a 6-month full-time commitment starting in early 2027.
- Basic knowledge of immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related wet lab techniques.
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, or immunoassays.
- Proficiency in Windows-based operating systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
