About the role#
We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer Co-op to join our System Test team. You will support Operator, our cloud-native security incident management platform. This role involves testing physical hardware integrations, such as live cameras and access control systems, within a modern cloud application. You will work alongside senior engineers to ensure our products meet the quality standards required for critical security operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and executing automated and manual tests that bridge software and hardware.
- Build and maintain software-based device simulators to mock physical hardware behaviors.
- Analyze specifications and functional requirements to identify candidates for automation.
- Contribute to scalable test automation frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright.
- Monitor and configure GitHub Workflows for Continuous Integration and log defects with technical precision.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic proficiency or strong foundational knowledge in TypeScript or Python.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
