About the role#
As a Market Research Intern, you will support the Market Intelligence team at Mortenson. You will research industries, competitors, and economic trends that impact our construction business. This role involves gathering information from various sources and summarizing your findings to support planning efforts across the company. You will work on projects that help our teams understand the market better.
What you'll do#
- Research trends, economic conditions, and construction market activity.
- Monitor competitor activity including company announcements, partnerships, and investments.
- Track industry news, customer trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.
- Create competitor profiles, market summaries, and research briefs.
- Gather information from multiple sources and summarize key findings for internal stakeholders.
- Support the development of presentations, reports, and executive briefings.
- Collaborate with team members and business partners on various research projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Business Administration, Economics, Market Research, Finance, Strategy, or a related field.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior.
- Previous related internship experience.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Basic understanding of construction and business practices.
- Experience using AI-powered platforms to support research and streamline workflows is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Minnesota, United States.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: Hourly wage starts at $18, with potential for higher pay based on year in school.
