About the role#
As a Summer Student with our Assurance and Accounting team, you will gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment. You will work on a variety of client files, helping our team provide financial information that supports informed decision-making. This role is based in Moosomin, Saskatchewan.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Manage multiple client files, set up new client accounts, and conduct inventory counts.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Draft technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence to present engagement findings.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and maintain client relationships.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward meeting the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
- Previous experience in an accounting office is an asset.
- Experience with tax and accounting software is an asset.
- Background in customer or client service is an asset.
