About the role#
MNP is seeking an Intern for the Assurance and Accounting team for the Summer 2027 term. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting and advisory services while working with a diverse team of professionals. You will support clients by providing tailored financial information and assisting in the preparation of essential reporting.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition, and payroll.
- Collect financial information to prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.
- Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, and prepaid expenses.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards while managing multiple client files.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence outlining engagement findings.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting-related office experience is considered an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

- Status: Full-time, paid position ($20 - $23 per hour).
