Co-op, International Tax/Cross Border

About the role#

Join the Cross Border Tax team as a Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This role focuses on delivering customized tax strategies within a complex regulatory framework, helping clients maintain compliance and mitigate risk on domestic and foreign assignments.

What you'll do#

• Participate in personal tax engagements, including U.S. and combined U.S.-Canadian individual income and estate tax return preparation.
• Prepare U.S. and Canadian personal tax returns.
• Assist in executing cross-border income tax and estate planning strategies.
• Conduct research on client issues related to compliance and planning, such as the impact of tax treaty provisions on capital gains, dividends, and business profits.
• Collaborate with the engagement team to deliver technical expertise through reports, client interactions, and high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to process improvements and utilize internal firm systems.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as required.

What you'll need#

• Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
• Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Previous office experience in tax or accounting is considered an asset.
• Experience in customer or client service is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
