About the role#
MNP is seeking a Co-op student for the International Tax/Cross Border team for the Winter 2027 term. This role involves working with a team to deliver tax strategies and advice for domestic and foreign assignments, helping clients maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
What you'll do#
- Prepare U.S. and Canadian personal tax returns.
- Participate in personal tax engagements, including U.S. and combined U.S.-Canadian individual income and estate tax return preparation.
- Assist with cross-border income tax and estate planning.
- Conduct research into client issues related to compliance or planning, such as the effects of tax treaty provisions on employment income, capital gains, and business profits.
- Work with the team to deliver technical expertise through reports, technical work, and client interactions.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and build relationships with client contacts.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas to improve work processes.
- Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Working towards prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous tax or accounting office experience is an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is an asset.
- Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
