Co-op Accountant, Assurance and Accounting - Audit

About the role#

As a Co-op Accountant with the Assurance and Accounting team, you will support clients by providing tailored financial information and advisory services. This role involves working within a team to help clients navigate the financial reporting landscape and make informed business decisions.

What you'll do#

• Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
• Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Manage multiple client files simultaneously, including setting up files for new clients.
• Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Collaborate with the client engagement team and maintain professional relationships with client contacts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations regarding engagement findings.

What you'll need#

• Completion of, or progress toward, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
• Completion of, or progress toward, prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Previous accounting-related office experience is an asset.
• Customer or client service experience is an asset.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

• Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 annually.
