About the role#
As a Co-op Accountant with the Assurance and Accounting team, you will support clients by providing tailored financial information to help them make informed business decisions. You will work within a professional environment, gaining exposure to financial reporting, audit processes, and client advisory services.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in areas including compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage multiple files simultaneously, including setting up files for new clients.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant financial reports.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations regarding engagement findings.
What you'll need#
- Completion of, or progress toward, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Completion of, or progress toward, prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting office experience is considered an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is considered an asset.
- Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

- Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 annually.
