About the role#
As an Intern with the Assurance and Accounting team, you will support clients by providing tailored financial information and analysis. This role involves working alongside a team of professionals to help clients navigate the financial reporting landscape and make informed business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in areas including compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients for accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll.
- Summarize financial status by collecting data and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.
- Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build professional relationships with client contacts.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in an accounting environment is considered an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
