About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Student for an 8-month term from January 2027 to August 2027. You will work within our Assurance and Accounting team in Saskatoon to provide financial information and support to our clients. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files at once.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform walkthroughs for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Assess audit evidence for revenues, expenses, and prepaid expenses.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
- Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Draft technical reports, client summaries, and presentations regarding engagement findings.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Suggest improvements for work processes using internal systems.
- Travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in commerce or business administration, preferably with a major in accounting or finance.
- Progress toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience, customer service background, or experience with accounting and tax software are considered assets.
