    About the role#

    Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories is looking for a Ph.D. student to join our team for an internship focused on human-robot interaction. You will work on research topics such as foundation models, shared autonomy, object handovers, learning from feedback, and safety in close proximity. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with our researchers to design and implement new algorithms.
    • Conduct experiments related to your research.
    • Disseminate your findings through a top-tier conference.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
    • A strong background in robot learning or computer vision.
    • Experience with ROS2, Python, and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch.
    • Demonstrated research potential or a strong publication record.
    • Experience in human-robot interaction, robot learning, or vision-language models.

    • Location: Cambridge, MA.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Rolling.
    • Compensation: 6,000 to 8,000 dollars per month.
    • Benefits: Includes a relocation stipend, travel coverage, a monthly Charlie Card, and immigration support if needed. Health insurance is available after a 90-day waiting period.
