About the role#
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories is looking for a graduate student to build high-fidelity full-stack GNC simulators for space applications. You will work on software that supports closed-loop execution using synthetic imagery and real-time visualization. We encourage interns to publish the results of their research during the program.
What you'll do#

What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program for Aerospace, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Matlab, Python, or C/C++.
- Experience with rendering engines and their APIs, specifically Blender, Unreal, or Unity.
- Background in synthetic image generation and computer vision.
- Familiarity with spacecraft dynamics, motion planning, and state estimation.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Modality: On-site.
- Duration: 3 to 6 months with a rolling start date.
- Compensation: 6,000 to 8,000 dollars per month.
- Benefits: Includes a relocation stipend, travel coverage, a monthly Charlie Card for commuting, and health insurance after a 90-day waiting period.
- Employment status: Full-time and paid with sponsorship available for qualified candidates.
