About the role#
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories is looking for a Ph.D. student to join our team as an intern. You will work on condition monitoring and fault diagnosis research. This role focuses on the development of advanced diagnostic technologies for systems like electric motors. This is a full-time, paid position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.
- Contribute to the development of new monitoring and diagnostic technologies.
- Apply your work to electric motors and motor-driven systems.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
- A solid background and publication record in fault diagnosis, prognosis, and health management.
- Proficiency in electric machine modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with machine learning techniques, specifically transfer learning and domain adaptation.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with PyTorch.
- Experience with modeling and analysis of electric machines is highly desirable.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Modality: On-site.
- Duration: 3 months.
- Compensation: 6,000 to 8,000 dollars per month.
