    About the role#

    MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking an intern for the Airborne Radar Systems and Techniques group. This position involves serving as a Teaching Assistant for the Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) Unmanned Aerial Systems Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAS-SAR) course. You will support the delivery of this six-week course on the MIT campus. Depending on availability, you may also have the opportunity to participate in research projects within the Airborne Radar Systems and Techniques group, which focuses on prototyping radar and imaging sensors for wide-area surveillance and developing algorithms for object detection.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist instructors as a Teaching Assistant for the BWSI UAS-SAR course.
    • Guide students through course material, project implementation, and debugging.
    • Work with instructors to refine and enhance existing course materials.
    • Gain hands-on experience by analyzing radar data and extracting technical insights.
    • Develop technical and professional communication skills through collaboration with the course team and students.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with BWSI UAS-SAR course materials, gained through attendance as a student or previous assistance within the last five years.
    • Basic programming skills in Python.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
    • Must be 18 or older by 1 June 2027.
    • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
