    About the role#

    This summer internship offers the opportunity to serve as a Teaching Assistant for the Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) Unmanned Aerial Systems Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAS-SAR) course. You will support the delivery of this course to a new cohort of students and may participate in additional radar research projects within the Airborne Radar Systems and Techniques group. This role provides exposure to hardware and software development, algorithm design, and sensor system prototyping.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist instructors as a Teaching Assistant for the BWSI UAS-SAR course for six weeks.
    • Guide students through course material, project implementation, and debugging.
    • Collaborate with instructors to improve existing course materials.
    • Build experience in analyzing radar data and extracting technical insights.
    • Develop technical and professional communication skills while working with students and radar engineers.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with BWSI UAS-SAR course materials, gained through previous attendance or assistance within the last five years.
    • Basic programming skills in Python.
    • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
    • Must be 18 or older by 1 June 2027.
    • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
