About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Carmel, Indiana. The program runs from June 2, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Please note that visa sponsorship, including OPT or CPT, is not available for this role.
What you'll do#
- Turn complex engineering problems into clear requirements, models, or design decisions.
- Work with product teams, architects, and operators to clarify questions and align solutions.
- Build systems engineering artifacts including system models, requirements, and interface definitions.
- Attend community service events, intern socials, and networking activities.
- Prepare a final presentation to summarize your project work, recommendations, and impact.
What you'll need#
- You are an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Curiosity, critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to work well with others.
- Clear communication skills.
- A willingness to learn systems thinking, requirements analysis, modeling, and the operation of large-scale grid systems.
- Comfort with learning new engineering tools and modeling concepts.
