    About the role#

    Michael Baker International is seeking a part-time GIS Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on Indoor Mapping field collection projects, providing an opportunity to work alongside seasoned GIS and Project Managers. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 20-40 hours per week, with work primarily conducted Friday through Sunday.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with technical duties and daily activities related to Indoor Mapping field collection.
    • Conduct field work on specified days.
    • Travel to various locations within the state of Kansas for data collection, including but not limited to Coffeyville, Garnett, Parsons, Oswego, Cawker City, Beloit, Olpe, Neosho Rapids, Americus, and Allen.

    What you'll need#

    • Working toward an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Science, or a related field; a focus in GIS, Geography, or Environmental Practice is preferred.
    • Proficiency in GIS software and Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in the organization and presentation of documentation.
    • A valid US Driver's License.
    • Current residency in the state of Kansas.

    Location & details#

    • Work Modality: On-site in Kansas.
    • Compensation: $18 - $22 per hour.
    • Travel expenses for field work within Kansas are covered.
