About the role#
Michael Baker International is seeking Civil Engineering Interns for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will work alongside engineers, planners, and construction professionals on transportation and infrastructure projects. This program provides hands-on experience in practice areas such as highway design, bridge design, geotechnical engineering, traffic engineering, construction services, and electrical engineering.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Assist with engineering analyses, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Support the preparation of drawings, plans, exhibits, and visual presentation materials.
- Contribute to CAD and design production activities.
- Collect, organize, verify, and analyze project data.
- Assist with project coordination, field activities, and construction-related tasks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Completion of at least one year of engineering coursework.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other engineering design software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Coursework in Highway Design, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer and prior internship or project experience are considered assets.

- Compensation: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour.
