About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Architectural Intern position based in New York. You will join the Architecture, Design and Project Management team at New York City Transit to support field verification and survey efforts across the transit system. This role involves working on projects related to ADA compliance, platform barriers, and station infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Perform field verification and surveys for station platforms, including ADA compliance checks.
- Create architectural designs and construction drawings for platform remediation.
- Conduct station surveys to maintain data inventory and update drawings.
- Measure stations for the positioning of platform barriers and alignment with subway car doors.
- Inspect station roofs and produce the necessary reports and drawings.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture as your first professional degree from an accredited college.
- High proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, and Excel.
- The ability to balance multiple priorities across several simultaneous projects.
