The Counseling Intern (Criminal Justice Services) role provides clinical mental health services to clients of all ages who are uninsured or have TennCare. This position offers the opportunity to develop clinical therapeutic skills while working under the guidance of a field supervisor. Interns will carry a small caseload and participate as active members of the client's multidisciplinary treatment team.
What you'll do#
- Provide point-of-care services and psychotherapy to clients of various ages.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including TF-CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, DBT, and play therapy.
- Conduct client assessments and participate in treatment and discharge planning.
- Maintain clinical documentation and collaborate with other departments across the agency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's level social work, counseling, or psychology program.
- Academic background or experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Ability to manage a small caseload of clients.
- A commitment to the internship for two semesters.
