About the role#
Mental Health Cooperative is seeking psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner interns to provide clinical services to clients of all ages. This position offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to clinical practice under the supervision of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care for individuals with severe mental illness.
- Diagnose psychiatric conditions and recommend psychotropic medication when appropriate.
- Provide counseling, guidance, and health instruction to clients and their family members.
- Participate in the client treatment team alongside other agency departments.
- Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner according to agency standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a master's level student in an accredited advanced practice nursing program.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of one semester and a maximum of three semesters.
