About the role#
The PMHNP Intern role provides training and support in an outpatient setting to help you build clinical skills for addressing psychiatric needs. You will work with children, adolescents, and adults. This position requires a two-semester commitment and offers hands-on experience in mental health and social services.
What you'll do#
- Conduct initial client intakes and follow-up sessions.
- Shadow PMHNPs and psychiatrists during medication management sessions.
- Participate in case presentations and team discussions.
- Attend weekly clinical supervision with the Medical and Clinical Directors.
- Join weekly psychodynamic case conferences and all-staff meetings.
- Complete clinical documentation by required deadlines.
- Maintain accurate client information and notes in Salesforce.
- Collaborate with the case management team, administrative staff, and your assigned care team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master's Degree program in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Standing as a second-year intern.
- High level of organization, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in working with underserved communities.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
