About the role#
Athena is looking for professional interns to join our clinical team. This is a paid, full-time internship for students in their second year of graduate study. We offer a hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling options for both in-person and telehealth sessions.
What you'll do#
- Conduct evidence-based therapy sessions for children, families, and individuals.
- Create and implement goal-oriented treatment plans for clients.
- Manage documentation in compliance with program and state regulations.
- Keep clinical notes and client information accurate within our EHR system.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Creative Arts Therapy, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- You are in your second year of your internship program.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial approach to your work.
- You have a focus on supporting underserved communities.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
This role is available in New York, Rochester, Bronx, Albany, Syracuse, and Yonkers. The position is hybrid and follows a rolling application term.
