About the role#
This is an 11-week, full-time summer internship program based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You will work on projects that impact the business and participate in professional development opportunities, including executive speaker series and networking events. You will present final projects to senior executives.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Corporate HR partners across the business.
- Analyze data and make recommendations to improve process efficiencies.
- Assist in communicating HR initiatives.
- Support team member development, performance, recognition, and engagement.
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison between in-store team members and the Corporate Total Rewards team.
- Screen applications, interview candidates, and support the onboarding process.
- Partner with business areas to execute initiatives and special projects.
- Advise business partners on coaching and delivering feedback.
- Use systems and reports to identify store needs and make recommendations to Operations partners.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, or Organization Development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- 2-4 years of professional work experience is preferred, with HR experience being highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Workday and Kronos HRMS systems.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Focus on bottom-line results and meeting customer expectations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships.
- Capacity to manage ambiguity and adapt to change.
