About the role#
As a Supply Chain and Inventory Management Intern, you will work directly with senior managers on process improvement and business system projects. You will focus on optimizing supply and demand planning, inventory deployment strategies, and stocking policies. Your work will support company objectives regarding service levels, inventory targets, and expense reduction. Projects are tied to strategic initiatives and are designed to have a tangible impact on the team.
What you'll do#
- Extract and report data, converting it into actionable information for decision making.
- Conduct root cause analysis on backordered or surplus products to recommend process improvements.
- Analyze the impact of warehouse network changes for specific product categories.
- Build forecasts and production schedules for various products or components.
- Simulate stocking strategies to identify the lowest total cost options.
- Develop reports to detect outliers and potential issues before they affect the system.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering.
- Junior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Unrestricted permanent US work authorization.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with data and visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or SAP is a plus.
