About the role#
McLeod Health is hiring a Nurse Extern for the Surgical Progressive Care Unit in Florence, South Carolina. This is a paid, on-site, part-time position with a rolling term. You will work PRN night shifts as needed.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct care tasks to collect and record patient data.
- Communicate patient information to the interdisciplinary team.
- Conduct hourly rounds to maintain service standards.
- Assist with nutritional and hydration needs, including feeding and providing fluids.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene for patients and the unit environment.
- Ensure safe storage of medications and follow health and safety protocols to protect staff and patients.
- Promote a safe, comfortable environment for visitors and patients.
- Recognize normal signs of growth and development in the patient population.
- Handle general transportation and courier duties.
- Set goals and participate in evidence-based tasks to support professional growth.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of a nursing program.
- Basic Life Support certification.
