About the role#
As a Student Nurse Intern, you will gain hands-on clinical experience while working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will support safe, high-quality patient care and develop your nursing skills. This role provides exposure to a variety of clinical settings and serves as a bridge between nursing education and professional practice.
What you'll do#
- Collect patient data and document it in the medical record within your scope of practice.
- Assist physicians and RNs with procedures.
- Review physician orders, lab requests, and follow-up needs with patients.
- Provide patient treatments as ordered.
- Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the RN.
- Maintain supplies by scanning, stocking, ordering new items, and disposing of expired or damaged goods.
- Float to various units based on identified needs.
- Participate in department and unit performance improvement activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited, or accredited eligible, RN program.
- Academic good standing with no more than two semesters remaining until program completion.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to obtain approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.
- Basic computer skills.
