About the role#
This is a paid, part-time Medical Assistant Student position based at Mercyhealth South in Janesville, Wisconsin. The role operates on a rolling basis and requires on-site attendance. You will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while completing your educational requirements.
What you'll do#
- Room patients, collect assessment data, and prepare patients for their specific needs.
- Assist with examinations, treatments, and other clinic procedures.
- Support laboratory procedures, screening tests, and quality improvement projects.
- Manage incoming calls and triage inquiries.
- Handle patient scheduling and enter data into the computerized system.
- Greet visitors, register patients, and verify the accuracy of records.
- Coordinate patient referrals with insurance and other offices.
- Collect payments and issue receipts.
- Maintain and order clinic supplies while managing patient charts.
- Conduct reminder calls for all patients.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES, CAAHEP, NCCA, or NHA.
- Graduation from a medical assistant program in a post-secondary school or college with institutional accreditation.
- Planned program completion within one year of your hire date.
- Experience in a program with a clinical rotation is preferred.
- Ability to obtain an approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of starting.
