About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world pharmacy operations. This role is designed to prepare you for a future as a Pharmacist by immersing you in a comprehensive training roadmap. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to gain hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations while supporting our pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate care to our patients.
What you'll do#
- Apply pharmacy school knowledge to daily practice by following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist the pharmacy team with prescription fulfillment across all workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, counseling patients, fielding medical questions, and soliciting medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and coordinate with prescribers regarding medication changes.
- Support team development by providing coaching and mentoring to colleagues.
- Manage basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns to stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
