About the role#
This is a full-time, paid position for a Student Nurse Aide at Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation. You will gain hands-on experience in long-term care while working under supervision to support our nursing staff and residents. This role requires consistent attendance and a professional approach to daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide personal care including grooming, bathing, peri care, and dressing.
- Assist residents with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Reposition residents regularly and monitor their skin integrity.
- Manage room maintenance tasks such as changing bed linens and organizing grooming supplies.
- Support the nursing team by passing water and ice, answering call lights, and organizing supplies.
- Help residents with range of motion exercises and reality orientation.
- Identify and report any conditions that require management attention.
What you'll need#
- Written proof of completion of 16-hour ADL training from an authorized school or instructor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-discipline, patience, and a commitment to serving others.
- Ability to follow safety policies, procedures, and documentation protocols.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Respect for the Patient Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities.
