About the role#
We are looking for a Student Nurse Aide to join our team in Dumas, Texas. This full-time position offers a chance to gain experience in long-term care while working under the supervision of our nursing staff. You will help provide daily support to our residents and assist the care team with essential tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide personal care to residents including grooming, bathing, and dressing.
- Assist residents with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Change bed linens and keep grooming supplies organized in resident rooms.
- Reposition residents regularly and monitor their skin integrity.
- Support the nursing staff by answering call lights and completing non-nursing tasks.
- Lead range of motion exercises and engage in reality orientation with residents.
- Monitor resident conditions and report any issues that require management attention.
What you'll need#
- Written proof of completion of a 16-hour ADL training program from an authorized instructor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-discipline, patience, and a commitment to serving others.
- Ability to follow safety policies, documentation protocols, and the Patient Bill of Rights.
- Basic computer literacy.
