About the role#
The Financial Planning Intern will work with our staff to support high net worth clients through holistic financial planning and relationship management. This role provides hands-on experience in advisory, consultative, and business development skills. You will assist advisors with client onboarding, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans to deliver a high-quality client experience.
What you'll do#
- Support client onboarding by preparing and processing paperwork.
- Schedule client meetings and create clear, engaging materials to explain financial concepts.
- Observe client meetings to gain experience in how advisors build relationships and solve challenges.
- Participate in meeting follow-up tasks such as research, documentation, and solution development.
- Contribute ideas during team discussions regarding client service and business development.
- Support account maintenance and money movement processes.
- Use financial planning and CRM software for data management and plan development.
- Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and compiling plan deliverables.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and service initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor or master degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months.
- Major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Curiosity about financial markets, planning strategies, and client motivations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, plus a willingness to learn new planning tools and CRM systems.
