About the role#
The Corporate Finance Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week opportunity designed to provide interns with hands-on experience as full members of the finance team. You will work alongside Nomura professionals, interact with a senior mentor, and participate in discussion groups and seminars. This is not a rotational program. You will gain exposure to the firm's financial performance, including revenues, expenses, and regulatory resources.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily and monthly P&L reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.
- Provide commentary on P&L drivers and daily variance.
- Collaborate with trading desks and operations teams to resolve trade booking or valuation issues.
- Execute month-end close processes, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements.
- Verify trading book valuations and test model inputs.
- Conduct QA reviews of balance sheet activities to ensure adherence to control frameworks.
- Manage the account attestation process for the finance division.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly FOCUS report and analyze daily net capital for broker-dealer requirements.
- Manage a portfolio of change initiatives to support strategic finance objectives.
- Produce ad hoc financial reports and trend analyses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or FinTech.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- An ability to understand financial products.
- Current authorization to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
