About the role#
The Private Client Group (PCG) Finance internship offers an opportunity to support the Modeling & Reporting team. You will work with financial and operational data to identify trends, evaluate business opportunities, and communicate findings to leadership. This role provides exposure to multiple areas of the firm, including employee, independent contractor, and RIA divisions. You will work on projects related to financial advisor recruiting, retention, and overall business performance.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models to evaluate advisor recruiting opportunities, including production, assets, and revenue.
- Prepare reports and analyses on key metrics such as retention, net new assets, and production.
- Analyze business-unit revenue, expenses, operating performance, and economies of scale.
- Collect, validate, and reconcile data to ensure accurate reporting.
- Enter, review, and research recruiting data in internal workflow tools.
- Partner across teams to research questions, resolve data issues, and complete projects.
- Maintain and improve Excel models, reporting templates, and process documentation.
- Perform additional duties, such as expense report reviews, as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current junior standing pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Knowledge of fundamental finance, accounting, and business concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, formatting, sorting, and filtering.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and present findings clearly.
- Experience using spreadsheets to summarize financial and operational data.
- Ability to organize and reconcile detailed information with high attention to detail.
- Strong professional communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
- Ability to learn new financial concepts, systems, and software applications.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
