About the role#
The HESS Talent Pathways Program offers a path to full-time employment as an Associate Personal Safety Professional. This position focuses on maintaining safety standards across operations, project work, and maintenance activities. You will work on-site to ensure compliance with both regulatory and corporate safety requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical safety support for routine operations, construction, and emergency response.
- Develop, maintain, and execute safety programs for field implementation.
- Audit safety programs to verify compliance and conformance with standards.
- Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and propose improvements.
- Lead investigations into near-misses, incidents, and injuries to determine root causes.
- Track safety recommendations through to final implementation.
- Create and present training materials on various safety topics.
- Act as a subject matter expert for programs such as fall protection or excavation safety.
- Prepare safety communications for shift meetings, notices, and bulletins.
What you'll need#
- Successful completion of a Marathon Petroleum HESS internship.
- Either a High School diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an HES-related field.

- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site.
- Available locations include Findlay, Ohio; Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; St Paul Park, Minnesota; Cadiz, Ohio; Garyville, Louisiana; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
