About the role#
The Teaching and Learning Center at Loma Linda University Health hires students to serve as tutors and academic coaches. This role supports peers by providing guidance in writing and specific subjects. You will help students build confidence and become independent learners in a supportive environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide tutoring in writing and subjects including algebra, anatomy, physiology, and statistics.
- Offer holistic academic coaching to peers.
- Help students improve their mastery of course content.
- Strengthen student writing and communication skills.
- Develop effective study strategies.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Loma Linda University student.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong performance in the subject areas you plan to tutor.
- Ability to use computer software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- At least one year of experience is preferred.
- Completion of at least one quarter or semester of coursework with a minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
