About the role#
As a Radiology Extern at UP Health System Bell, you will gain hands-on experience in a clinical environment. This role involves supporting our imaging team while you complete your education. You will work under supervision to provide care and assist with daily operations at our Ishpeming facility.
What you'll do#
- Perform imaging procedures following established standards of practice.
- Review patient histories and physician orders.
- Explain procedures and equipment to patients to ensure they understand their care.
- Assist staff with imaging exams across multiple modalities.
- Prepare necessary equipment and supplies for diagnostic tests.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Complete various clerical tasks to support the department.
What you'll need#
- You must be a 2nd year student in a relevant program of study.
- You need a Radiation Operator license from the state Board of Radiology.
- You must be eligible for ARRT certification within 12 months of graduation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
