About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with essential care tasks and help maintain a therapeutic environment for patients. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including vital signs, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures.
- Communicate clearly with the care team during handoffs and shift reports.
- Document all tasks and observations accurately and on time.
- Keep patient rooms and shared workspaces clean and organized.
- Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and storage of patient care equipment like glucometers and scales.
- Perform hourly rounding and interact with patients to support their healing process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Zero to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- A CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- A Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety if working in Skilled Nursing.
